Job Description

The Firm Our client are a Legal 500 firm at the forefront of defendant law. They pride themselves on delivering innovative, high quality legal services to their clients across a range of services.Their practice areas include all insurance business lines, span international work and a dedicated subrogation and recoveries offering. Claims handling and litigation services are also provided to their insurance and corporate clients.The RoleThe role will consist of working alongside experienced Legal Assistants with the pro-active handling of technical and complex third-party cases in an efficient and effective manner. Key responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Manage own caseload to ensure that tasks are effectively scheduled within working time available and that urgent work is completed within specified timescales, making use of the firms Case Management Systems and using agreed internal procedures and practices
  • Work closely with experienced Legal Assistants and clients to provide technical advice and risk management
  • Comply with SRA Accounts Rules and Rules of the Professional Conduct in accordance with company guidelines
  • Gather and accurately analyse appropriate information in order to make the best business decision aligning with the total and/or partial resolution of Third Partys needs
  • Pro-actively deal with opponents in order to achieve overall key performance objectives
  • Take a pro-active and results orientated approach to claims handling in order to deliver optimum savings whilst reducing the lifecycles of claims
The firm are offering a starting salary of £23,000pa (increasing with experience) and a hybrid working pattern.They also have excellent progression prospects and are keen to progress their Legal Assistants to Training Contract!About You
  • Experience working within an EL/PL team desired but will also consider candidates with an Insurance background
  • Qualifying Law Degree or equivalent
  • Educated to GCSE level C/4 or equivalent in 5 subjects, including English and Mathematics
  • Experience using an "enabling" case management system (desirable)
