Job Description

Role- Mechanical Production Engineer Salary- £38,000- £55,000 per annum dependent on experience (please advise what you would be looking for)Type- Permanent Location- Surrey My client design and manufacture vehicles and they are looking to take on a Mechanical Production Engineer, on a permanent basis, in the Surrey area.The Mechanical Production Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

  • Formal qualification in Mechanical Engineering (HNC/ HND/ Degree or similar) or have the equivalent work experience with transferable skills
  • 10 years or more experience working in a similar varied hands on rolehave been involved in design, production and also quality control
  • Have a good appreciation for design and manufacturing processes including casting, assembly, moulding etc.
  • 3D CAD skills using Pro Engineer, SolidWorks or similar and be able to read engineering drawings
  • Be confident dealing with suppliers when needed from concept to production
  • Have experience in testing, FMEA and development work
  • Have a passion or experience working with vehicles, cars, bikes, motor racing and similar
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Be able to work well alone as well as part of a team
The Mechanical Production Engineer role will involve:
  • Working with the engineering and production team
  • Managing the production of components and also subassemblies
  • Solving root cause defects and finding solutions
  • Designing jigs & fixtures and re-designing part of the production process
  • Optimising production flow and ensuring high standard of quality at all times
  • Creating 3D models and drawings using Pro Engineer software
  • Contributing to design improvements
  • Travelling to Europe when needed
  • Reporting to the MD
  • Working with the company SAP system
  • Being involved in producing QC procedures with the team
  • Being involved in the inspection of prototypes too
