Job Description

Our client, a Housing Association based in Birmingham, and with properties across the Shropshire, Derbyshire and Birmingham areas, is currently recruiting for a Senior Employee Relations Advisor on a permanent basis.The position is due to start immediately on a full time (37.5 hours) basis and is looking to pay £35,500 with a £1680 p/a car allowance.You would be expected to manage your own time and diary, working on a hybrid basis with your time split between working in the office, from home and visiting sites.The role itself will focus on providing an excellent HR partnering service to ensuring the delivery of a successful and proactive HR support and advice service including; employee relations, employment law, absence management, and performance managementissues, but would also be a lead for EDI for the organisation.Duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Providing HR advice and support to managers in relation to HR policies and procedures and people management issues such as; absence; maternity; flexible working; conduct and capability; grievance and disciplinary issues; organisational change and otheremployee relations matters
  • Leading on investigations into disciplinary, grievance and absence management cases in line with corporate policies and procedures, providing coaching and support to managers involved in the process
  • Providing coaching, support and advice to managers to enable effectiveness in line management role and dealing with ER and HR matters
  • Working with line managers and staff on recruitment, TUPE, employment tribunals, and employment law issues and requirements, including paperwork preparation, consultation, training, briefing and advice
  • Lead on EDI by working with the Executive Director of People and Resources, managing the process for the organisation on EDI and supporting the EDI Steering Group
Experience required:
  • CIPD L5 qualified
  • Previous experience in a HR setting
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
  • Strong knowledge of employment law
  • Strong communication skills
Working hours:
  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Monday - Friday 9am-5pm (flex)
