Job Description

The starting salary for this role is £10,509.84 per annum for working 12 hours per week term time only (396 hours per year) OR £7,006.56 per annum for working 8 hours per week term time only (264 hours per year). Please be aware that though the advertisedworking hours are correct at present, these are subject to change each term.This is a peripatetic role where teaching takes place during the school day, after school and at the weekend, at variousschools and music centres in Surrey.Are you passionate about getting young people to take up an instrument or to sing To make music with others Would you enjoy being part of an organisation with like-minded musicians and teachers who put students and inclusive practice firstSurrey Artsis the lead youth music organisation in Surrey, and we provide music lessons, instrument hire, out of school music centres, activities, and ensembles for young people.About the role This is an exciting opportunity for aWoodwind Instrumental Teacherto join our talented team of experienced and committed teaching staff. Across 33 weeks of the academic year, you will deliverhigh quality and innovative music educationto children andadults at various schools and venues around the county.In this role, you will be supported by a team of Administrators and an Area Manager to organise your schedule and timetables. You will also be provided with annual paid CPD and training opportunities. Our hourly rate of pay ranges from£26.54 to £27.16 perhour for individual/group lessons (depending on experience).You will join a team dedicated to"changing lives through world class arts".Surrey Arts is an ambitious and forward-thinking organisation that places young people at the centre of our work.   • 12 hpw - Epsom, Spelthorne, Elmbridge, Dorking and Leatherhead (£10,509.84 per annum)

About you To be considered for interview, yourpersonal statementwill clearly evidence:
  • The teaching positions you are applying for, in what areas, current availability, and ability to teach after school and on a Saturday morning. Please reference other instruments you can teach and whether you can teach piano at primary school level
  • Specialist music knowledge and experience related to your instrument(s) and performing or creating music to a high standard
  • Experience of working with children and young people in school, youth, or community settings in the UK
  • Experience of managing the learning of small and large groups, or a willingness to try
  • Experience of building strong relationships with students, parents, schools, and colleagues
  • Strong IT and administration skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel.
