Job Description

PorterSector: HealthcareType of role: TemporaryDuration of the role: This is temporary role from Friday 27th November to Wednesday 16th December 2020 and maybe longerLocation: Epsom, SurreyBand: 2Pay Rate: £9.77 paye per hour including holiday payWorking days and hours: Monday to Friday 8.00am to 8.00pmJob SummaryThe postholder will be required to carry our general portering, departmental portering, main and security duties on a daily basis or shift basis as required.Job Duties

  • Collection, delivery and sorting items
  • Collection of laundry, food trolley’s etc. throughout the hospital.
  • Collecting waste on the Hospital site and delivering to the waste disposal areas. Recycling as required.
  • Delivery of clean linen, food trolleys and other services and goods throughout the hospital.
  • Movement of furniture and equipment.
  • Assist nursing staff to lift or move patients.
  • Convey bodies to the mortuary.
  • Provide relief for departmental porters when necessary.
  • Ensure working base, equipment and vehicles are kept in a satisfactory condition.
  • Collection and delivery of items throughout the hospital including patient charts, patient samples etc.
  • Undertaking any other duties appropriate to the grade as directed by the Supervisor or Deputy General Manager.

  • Wednesday 16th
    • In order to successfully commence employment as a Porter, you will need to:
  • Register with Your World Healthcare and become fully compliant (prior to commencing employment)
  • Apply for a valid in date DBS if you not yet hold a current DBS on the update service OR an enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months (this can be applied for as part of your application via Your World Healthcare)
  • Complete mandatory online training modules (required to commence employment)
  • Provide professional employment/educational references covering the last 3 years
