Neighbourhood Enforcement OfficerPermanent Part time 21 hours Up to £19,089 Plus Car AllowanceEpsomHours: 21Start date: ASAPOverview:A great part time opportunity for a Neighbourhood Enforcement Officer. 21 hours per week, flexible working. Looking for an enthusiastic and committed housing professional with excellent organisational and communication skills and the ability to work to targets and meet deadlines.Sounds pretty easy……other daily duties include:Lead on the investigation and management of all alleged ASB, sub letting and tenancy fraud reports in line with policy and procedures using initiative to achieve positive outcomes. Ensuring effective support to both complainants and alleged perpetrators.Conduct interviews, take witness statements and initiate and help prepare legal proceedings, including acting as a Court Witness. Working closely with our legal team when required.Pursue appropriate legal remedies which will range from injunctions, possession orders, or other legal remedies in conjunction with other agencies e.g. Criminal Behaviour Order (ASB).Identifies vulnerabilities that may be a factor in ASB complainants and alleged perpetrators behaviour and provide appropriate support and/or referrals. Effective and sensitive support is also provided to ASB witnesses.Ensure close work and referrals with relevant agencies to help residents to be supported and safeguarded.Identifies, develops and implement preventative measures and diversionary projects to reduce ASB, tenancy fraud and sub letting. This will include for example working closely with colleagues on scheme improvements and community engagement to deter ASB.Maintains and analyses ASB case management data to improve understanding of the nature of ASB and help identify service improvements.Maintains knowledge of relevant legislation and good practice and provide relevant briefings to colleagues, senior staff and residents forums.Knowledge, skills and experience EssentialUp-to-date knowledge of housing legislation and recent experience of working in a social housing environment.Good knowledge and awareness of best practice in the role of Enforcement Officer.Understanding of current issues in social housing and Tenancy enforcement.Excellent, evidenced customer service skills and a "people" focused approach to service delivery.Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels.A good understanding of the principles of equality and customer care and delivering diverse services that meet customer needs.A good standard of computer literacy and ability to use IT packages, contact technology and IT based systems.The ability to work flexibly including working during the evening or weekend to attend or support meetings or events.Able to demonstrate a level of numeracy and literacy to the equivalent of Grade C English and Maths GCSE.Experience of building and sustaining productive relations with key stakeholders, including local authorities, police, social services, etc. DesirableMember of Chartered Institute of Housing.A management qualification.Experience of working in an Enforcement role.To be successful in this role youll have:
