Job Description

Financial Accountant - ReadingAn international FMCG client Manufacturing organisation based in Reading are looking for an ambitious candidate with training preferably gained from a Top 10 firm. The role requires a candidate looking to make their 1st move into industry.You will undertake the financial accounting responsibilities for a new division and be responsible for creating a function alongside the Commercial Analyst to build a new function. Essentially an opportunity to build a new department from scratch but within an established and financially stable organisationKey Accountabilitys:

  • Financial accounting and consolidation of monthly management accounts
  • Assisting with production of the Statutory Accounts and point of contact for audit purposes
  • Maintain accounts for group holding companies
  • Review the monthly cash flow statement and obtain explanations for variance to budget
  • Ownership of the Group balance sheets and individual entity balance sheet reviews
  • Manage and maintain accurate records for all key balance sheet items
  • Manage month end management accounts for all balance sheet and cash flow related elements
  • Ownership of group accounting manual, processes and procedures
  • Advisory services to the group on the technical impact of any corporate activity
  • Contribute to the strategy of the finance team
    • Skills and experience:
  • Possess a strong academic track record
  • Qualified chartered accountant with strong technical accounting knowledge
  • Business partnering experience gained with key stakeholders, including management accounting, tax, payroll and internal and external advisors
  • You are a professional and confident individual
  • Computer skills: SAP, Advanced Excel
    • Personal Characteristics:
  • Works well under pressure
  • Ability to field multiple queries at any time and prioritise accordingly
  • Works well both in a team and individually
  • Well organized with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to act on own initiative
