Job Description

SEN Teaching AssistantAre you a dedicated and experienced SEN TA looking for a rewarding opportunity to work one-on-one with a non-verbal child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in the heart of Enfield If so, we have the perfect role for you!Position: SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Enfield Sector: Education and TrainingAbout the Role: As a SEN Teaching Assistant in Year 1 at our school in Enfield, you will play a pivotal role in supporting a non-verbal child with ASD on a 1-2-1 basis. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in a childslife and develop your career.Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated one-to-one support for a non-verbal Year 1 student with ASD.
  • Implement effective communication techniques tailored to the childs needs.
  • Assist the child in their daily activities and learning tasks.
  • Support the childs active participation in class and recreational activities.
  • Be prepared to provide personal care when necessary.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant, preferably with non-verbal children with ASD.
  • Strong understanding of communication strategies for non-verbal children.
  • Empathy, patience, and a passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
  • Ability to adapt and work closely with the teaching team and parents.
  • Relevant qualifications in education and training are a plus.
