Job Description

We run our business by these values and they are reflected in all of our roles particularly roles such as our Night Shift Warehouse ManagerJob purpose:Our Night shift Warehouse Manager is a key role working with our Depot General Manager to ensure the smooth running of the Night operation in the Depot; where you will lead teams of Supervisors, Night Loaders, Sorters and Drivers in processing parcels delivered from client sites in to smaller geographic areas to be delivered to the final customer.The Nightshift Warehouse Manager is fully accountable for the performance of the shift whilst proactively seeking ways to improve cost, service & operational efficiency. You will ensure all resources including third party are managed, planned and controlled to achieve the agreed service levels. Our designate position is to further enhance the management support and leadership we can provide across our 24/7 operation.About the Role:You’ll be joining our business as a key member of the Depot Management team. Working alongside our Inbound Process (Dayshift) Manager, you will support your Depot Manager in ensuring the smooth running of the Depot. The Night Shift Manager is responsible for the performance of the night operation whilst proactively seeking ways to improve cost, service & operational efficiency. You will ensure all resources including third party agency workers are managed, planned and controlled to achieve the agreed service levels. You will manage a mixed team of contracted and agency staff across our busy night shifts. The Night Shift is key to our business as it is when we receive parcels and items from our clients. To ensure that we can hit the Targets and Service Level Agreements in place we need great Supervisors and Managers.You will be responsible for motivating your staff, problem solving on a day to day basis and operationally. Each Depot has challenges but you’ll have an experienced central team, senior Managers as well as peer mentorship to support you and your Supervisors; this support will enable you to meet your potential and grow your experience.You will also talent manage and develop your team so that as promotion and more senior roles become available you have the talent to build your team.You will be responsible for motivating your staff, problem solving on a day to day basis and operationally.As this is a Nights Based role your average start time would be 9:30PM-10:30PM and there will be some weekend working involved in this position.Experience/Qualifications:Transport knowledge, skills or experience including regulationsExperience in managing and leading a teamDeveloping staffReporting and providing reports on SLA’s & KPI’sMust be able to work on own initiative in a pressurised environment to tight deadlinesPC Literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft officeGood communicator and able to liaise at all levelsResponsibilities:Managing all areas of the night warehouse sortation in an efficient cost-effective manner.Ensuring depot key KPI’s are achieved e.g. sortation compliance, Vehicle Departure times etcBudget Management to achieve the agreed service levels including productivity, labour costs, overtime usage, Agency usage.Maintaining the health, safety and security of all employees and visitors.To lead, coach and develop the supervisors on shift.To adhere to the legal requirements of the ‘O’ Licence.All required MI reporting documentation is maintained to the required standard & on time.Benefits:Bonus26 Days Holiday entitlement + Bank HolidaysOpt in benefits“To all recruitment agencies: Hermes does not accept agency resumes.
