Job Description

The Assistant Management Accountant will support the Financial Controller in the preparation of the monthly management accounts. To work closely with the Heads of department to understand and improve job profitability and WIP management.Client DetailsOur client based in Enfield has a rich history spanning over four decades, offering extensive building and construction help to a diverse clientele including local authorities, social landlords, health care institutions, and private sector entities. Through fostering enduring partnerships, they have demonstrated a strong commitment to catering to the needs of both commercial and residential clients,ensuring successful outcomes and reliable solutionsDescriptionThe key responsibilities the Assistant Management Accountant:

  • Manage Work in Progress Report, collaborating with department heads for balance reduction.
  • Review quarterly overhead allocations to jobs.
  • Monitor and process retentions owed.
  • Handle cash management, including bank balances and reconciliations.
  • Prepare BACs payments via online banking systems.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities in coordination with department managers.
  • Analyse divisional profitability and report findings.Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Generate monthly Prepayments & Accruals, maintain Fixed Asset register.
  • Assist in overseeing P&L, Balance Sheet, and produce timely management reports.
ProfileThe successful Assistant Management Accountant will have:
  • Demonstrate effective planning, problem-solving, and meeting set targets.
  • Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, adept at engaging across all business levels.
  • Currently pursuing ACCA, CIMA, or a similar qualification with robust accounting acumen.
  • Proficient in generating Management Accounts and conducting Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Proficiency in various IT tools including Excel, Word, and other MS Office applications.
  • Valid and full UK driving license.
