Hours: 30 hours per week, term time only. (Monday – Friday 8.30am – 3.30pm) Salary: Hay 09 (£15,595 - £17,218 per annum) This is a temporary post, subject to funding that will end when the funding ceases or the child leaves the school. Mangotsfield C of E Primary School is a large, friendly and highly regarded Church of England School, judged as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted. We require an enthusiastic and energetic person who is trained or has experience working with children with social interaction and communication difficulties as well as managing behaviour and emotions. This post will suit candidates who are committed to providing the best learning opportunities for their pupil and who are committed to develop themselves professionally. They will have excellent inter personal and communication skills and will have previous experience of working with children with special educational needs. The successful applicant will be required to work closely with the Class Teacher, Parents, Special Needs Coordinator and Outside Agencies. They will be supportive, flexible and able to use their initiative in developing activities and games that support the development of the child’s independent social skills with his peers. The post will be supporting a child in Year 2 and is subject to local authority funding The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the safety and welfare of children and young people. All staff and volunteers are expected to share this commitment and all appointments will be subject to appropriate vetting, including an enhanced DBS disclosure check. Some roles may need to comply with the ‘Childcare Act 2006’ and the ‘Childcare (Disqualification) Regulations 2009’ were additional disclosure of information will be required.
