Public Affairs & Policy ManagerWe are one of the largest learning disability charities in the UK, supporting over 2,500 people through our friendly, supportive, creative and diverse teams.Are you passionate about politics Do you have a thorough understanding and experience of working with all levels of Government to bring about changeSalary: £36,235 per annumHours: Full time, Fixed Term Contract 18 Months - 35 Hours per weekLocation: Emerson’s Green, BristolThis is a fantastic opportunity to continue to build the public affairs and external policy function in a leading learning disability charity.We’re looking for someone who is keen to use their policy and public affairs expertise to help us raise awareness of the issues that affect adults with learning disabilities, and the social care providers that support them.You will be a highly motivated professional, who enjoys working flexibly across a range of projects and engaging with a variety of stakeholders. Your responsibilities will vary from; providing strategic advice and guidance to senior managers, developing position statements on critical issues, drafting formal responses to consultations, and cultivating relevant contacts across the social care sector.This role reports directly into the Executive Director for People and Communications and will work closely with senior managers and the Communications and Marketing team.Requirements:Educated to degree standard or with an equivalent professional qualification you will have significant experience of working in the public affairs/policy field at a managerial level, preferably in the social care sector.You will be able to quickly build effective relationships to communicate, influence and negotiate with a diverse range of people. With strong analytical skills you will be responsible for building Hft’s authoritative voice through championing and leading Hft’s annual Sector Pulse research.
