Job Description

Our client ( a clear market leader in their industry ) based in Bristol ( at the junction of the M32 and M4 so easily commutable from Bristol itself , Keynsham , Bath or Chippenham ) are experts in the compliance industry and Insurance ; focussing mainly on the Motor Trade and Travel .Ideally you will live within easy commute as the role is a mix of in office and remote work .They are looking for an IT Support person to join their expanding IT team to help deal with customer enquiries and issues help with compute maintenance of in office staff , building PCs , networking , databases and some SQL or willingness to learn .Key responsibilitiesTo undertake key areas, as directed by clients and the IT Director:

  • Technical Support (for end-users and internal staff)
  • Support Applications and Bugs .Suggestions on streamlining the process Keeping Internal and External staff updated with progress
  • Company infrastructure (phone systems, mobiles internal drive and shares)
  • Technical Support (for end-users and internal staff)

  • Execute reports in SQL, training will be given to facilitate this purpose.
  • Help debug issues with applications, basic JavaScript understanding is sort after, training will be offered to help progression in this area.
  • Support tickets

  • Escalation of tickets to developers if can not be dealt with
  • To have input into, software, projects being developed by the development team at the specification stage, including user testing and sign off.Reports to: Line ManagerBusiness Function: ITEssential skills
  • Communication with company departments and clients regarding:
  • Timescales for resolution of support, bug and feature requests
  • Planned systems maintenance, downtime, release of updates, etc.
  • Status of known issues and workarounds
  • Liaise with external business partners and clients to resolve system issues
  • Management of business infrastructure:
