Job Description

ELLON GROUP PRACTICEMedical Receptionist Required(Temporary Maternity CoverFull-time 37 hrs per week)The Ellon Group Practice is currently seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Temporary Maternity Cover Medical Receptionist to join our friendly, long established Practice, committed to providing excellent clinical care. Working hours Monday to Friday.The successful candidate will contribute to the smooth running of a busy reception/administration department and shall provide the best possible care for patients in a helpful, efficient manner as a conscientious member of the team. Duties shall be carried out in accordance with Practice procedures, protocols and timescales, ensuring strictest confidentiality and regulatory adherence at all times.Experience working within a GP Practice or healthcare environment would be advantageous, but is not essential. Good IT skills including Microsoft Office competence is required; training shall be provided for all other applicable systems.Good communication, pro-activity and team work are essential skills to successfully fulfil this role.Duties & Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Answering telephone calls & ‘signposting’ patients to appropriate clinicians
  • Accurate update of patient database information
  • Booking patient appointments
  • Repeat prescription administration
  • Issuing test results to patients, filing results & other relevant documents
  • General administrative duties; photocopying, filing and mail management
