Job Description

Lead Site Fitter Location -Ellesmere PortShift - Days Salary - £15 - £20ph DOEAre you an Engineer, with experience in plant machinery, shredders & balers or forklift trucks and telehandlers looking for your next opportunity, within an ever growing and pioneering companyAttega are looking for a driven and experience fitter to join our team to become our Lead Site Fitter. This is the perfect opportunity for someone who thrives on leading by example and a challenge as youll be the first point of call for on site issues andintegral to building and maintaining the team to an excellent standard while bridging them to our engineering design team who are based off site.The ideal candidate is organised, able to pull from their knowledge and experience as well as capable and willing to think outside the box and try new things. Your active and hands on as most of the team youll be working side by side with the other fitterswhile managing tasks and leading on projects.You will work closely with our Design Engineering Team, Operations Team as well as reporting to, and working closely with, our director.We need someone who is capable while confident to lead. Ideally, you would have electrical experience but we may overlook that for the perfect candidate.What youll do

  • Maintaining daily and weekly records to ensure all engineering activity is recorded.
  • Maintaining tools and equipment
  • Working to current health and safety regulations and following company health and safety policies and safety practices
  • Ensuring work areas and clean and safe
  • Ensuring all relevant people are communicated with for work needed to be carried out.
  • Carrying out pre work risk assessments and always ensuring safety of others.
  • Lead by example always displaying good working practices.
  • Communicate with management on improvements or initiatives.
  • Always supervise tasks and the team.
  • Be point of contact for issues out of hours.
Requirements
  • Experience in mechanical engineering - hydraulic systems, rotating equipment, bearing, gearboxes and motors.
  • Experience welding (stick)
  • Experience in electrical engineering - wiring and installation, fault finding, electricity distribution equipment, lighting fixtures and various control systems.
  • Experience in preventive and reactive maintenance
  • Experience in recycling or manufacturing environment
  • Experience of supervision or team leadership.
  • Knowledge and understanding of good health and safety practices.
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
