Job Description

Ref: 14122Role: Design Engineer HV / MV / LV (Utilities)Location: Ellesmere Port (5 days, possible flex)Salary: DOE + Pension + bonusSummary:Our client deals with several of the largest utility networks which helps deliver gas, water and electricity supplies. The role is to undertake outline designs for tendering purposes and providing detailed designs for domestic, commercial and industrial development up to 33KV. The ideal candidate will have minimum of 3 years experience in Electrical HV / MV / LV substation engineering with a degree / HND equivalent and excellent communication skills.Key responsibilities:

  • Undertaking outline designs for tendering purposes
  • Detailed designs for domestic, commercial and industrial developments up to 33KV
  • Provide technical support for business development and construction department
  • Review external design elements and offer full design support to other teams
  • Assess enquiries to determine ability to tender and scope of works
  • Provide solutions for projects ensuring compliance with relevant specifications including NERS
  • Estimating enquiries and prepare submission tender documentation
  • Liaise with adopting assess owner (DNO, IDNO, IGT etc)
  • Being involved with audits to endure the company maintains their accreditations
Skills and experience required:
  • Engineering qualification, degree / HND or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years experience in electrical HV / MV / LV substation engineering
  • Experience in designing / planning LV and HV electrical utility infrastructure and substation design
  • Knowledge of technical specifications of equipment, substations, cables and plant
  • Knowledge of DNO / IDNO network construction including G81 documents
  • Understanding of the current NERS, N.R.S.W.A, ISO09001, ISO14001 and ISO18000
  • IT literate with good knowledge of MSOffice
  • Ability to work as a team and independently with excellent communication skills
