OverviewThe European IT team is looking to hire a Business Analyst to work within our European Application Development Team.The European IT team is responsible for the development and ongoing ownership of software solutions supporting the our business. This includes Microsoft Azure web applications and integration solutions based on the .NET technology stack, that serve internalemployees and external customers. The European Application Development team are responsible for the full software lifecycle for a portfolio of bespoke business applications. These applications support our customers, partners, administrative teams and rentaloperations. These are highly visible software applications responsible for supporting thousands of end users, significant volumes of business and revenue.You will be responsible for working with our business users to document requests and user requirements for our software applications. This position will form part of a development team, working closely with software engineers, quality assurance engineers,managers, colleagues in Product Management, our customer/business partners, and Global IT to meet the needs of our business.ResponsibilitiesSpecific Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Develops, interprets, reviews, validates, documents, and maintains business and functional requirements
• Coordinates and facilitates meetings to define key capabilities and requirements
• Evaluates business requests to determine feasibility; researches and identifies options that best serve business needs.
• Provides information about how requirements may affect functional design documents
• Serves as the primary interface between the users/product management and the IT team; may be required to present formal presentations to end users, stakeholders, and management
• Conducts structured walkthroughs of requirements with business and project team members
• May fulfill the role of Scrum Master to facilitate ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint retros and sprint demos, etc.
• Participates in acceptance testing to ensure client/user needs are met. Presents information regarding enhancements and tracks and responds to questions from business and IT team members
• Identifies potential problems that may arise with new or enhanced applications; communicates how problems will affect business.
• Writes business correspondence and technical reports; reviews report results for accuracy
• Possesses general knowledge of the IT environment and Enterprises lines of business. Assists with researching opportunities to minimize complexity by leveraging current IT investments and seeking out cost effective solutions
• Participates in change management activities, including testing, troubleshooting, and investigation
• Assists team with investigation of operational and support issues arising with existing products
• Maintains established service level agreements to meet customer expectations and quality standards
• Contribute to the Business Analysis community forum by discussing industry best practices and job experience that support a culture of continuous improvementProtects our customers, our employees, and our brands by incorporating security and compliance inall decisions and daily job responsibilities; follows security policies and procedures

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role
• Working to Agile principles in teams
• Excellent Verbal and Written communication skills tailored to audiences with varying levels of technical knowledge
• Experience of using standard business analysis tools and techniques

Advantageous but not essential:

• Ability to write in the GHERKIN syntax
• Experience working with Atlassian tools such as Confluence and JIRA / Microsofts Azure Dev Ops platform
• SQL/NoSQL queries (COSMOSdb or Azure SQL)
• Process modelling using Microsoft VISIO

Additional Information

• Hours: 40 per week, Monday to Friday
• Location: Remote
• Salary: £30,000 - £45,000 per annum experience dependent
