Job Description

Maintenance Shutdown PlannerSaint Gobain Glass UKEggborough, GooleWorking days, predominantly Monday to FridayAre you an experienced in maintenance planning for shutdown maintenance and weekly maintenance schedules and someone who is passionate about driving the highest levels of safety, reliability, and performance of assets in manufacturing environmentsAt Saint-Gobain Glass UK, part of the Saint-Gobain Group, Europes leading manufacturer of flat glass for the UK market, we are looking for an Maintenance Shutdown Planner. Someone who can partner and coordinate with our manufacturing operations, wider Engineeringteams, and external contractor support in delivering focused asset reliability planning activities in a particular part of our process, our glass coating equipment.We are looking for someone able to plan, project manage, and lead the delivery of periodic shutdown maintenance on our coating assets. Coordinating with contract services, operations, and the wider site Engineering team, you will ensure that asset stripdown, component cleaning and or exchange, proactive maintenance and or replacements, and equipment improvements required to ensure the quality of product manufacturing as well as ensuring that the activities are conducted in a safe and timely manner ensuringall required resources are available, limiting the impact on production operations and keeping down time to a minimum. The work will include some small CAPEX delivery in equipment upgrades and replacements where required.In addition to shut down and maintenance activities, you will hold key responsibility for managing and ordering consumable materials for the production area, working closely with our manufacturing and technical teams.Glass UK is one of 30 Saint-Gobain brands. The Glass UK site in Eggborough is part of a business with a 350 year heritage in flat glass manufacturing. We have invested heavily into our Eggborough facility in recent years including £20m in a new furnace,securing the site for the next 20 years. We have invested significantly in our people and health initiatives which included a site subsidised canteen, free on-site gym, and a host of wellbeing initiatives.This is a full-time position based in Eggborough. Your normal working pattern will be days over Monday to Friday. Flexibility in your approach will be required to support a 24-hour operation, which may include some out of hours duties from time to time.What were looking for:

  • An experienced maintenance planner/specialist, with formal training/qualifications in a maintenance, mechanical, or electrical discipline.
  • A safety-conscious individual, with experience in the application of managing safety in engineering operations. IOSH training or similar will be an advantage.
  • Evidence of planning and leading maintenance shutdown activities in a manufacturing environment.
  • A hands-on personality with the ability to assist operators and engineers to conduct the tasks when required.
  • A good understanding of, and experience in the application of modern maintenance and reliability practices.
  • Experience of project or CAPEX delivery would be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills and a detail-orientated individual.
