Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Windows Systems Engineer to join our client’s talented IT team. As a Windows Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining a Windows-based systems infrastructure.   • Design, implement, and maintain Windows server infrastructure with a focus on automation using tools such as Ansible, Chef, and PowerShell.
  • Implement and manage configuration management using Chef InSpec, ensuring adherence to best practices and security standards.
  • Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles to automate the provisioning and management of Windows environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the optimal performance, security, and availability of Windows-based systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Windows servers, leveraging automation tools when applicable.
  • Conduct system upgrades and patches to ensure a secure and up-to-date environment.
  • Effectively manage and update configuration items, incidents, problems, and changes in ServiceNow (SNOW) and Jira.
Key Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Windows Systems Engineer or Administrator.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server operating systems (2012, 2016, 2019).
  • Proficiency in Jira and ServiceNow for IT service management.
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Ansible and Chef.
  • Familiarity with Chef InSpec for creating and maintaining compliance as code.
  • Solid understanding of PowerShell scripting for automation and configuration management.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and tools.
  • Experience in managing configuration items and changes using configuration management tools.
  • Experience in incident, problem, and change management processes.
  • Solid understanding of system security principles and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
