Job Description

If you are an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager, we want to hear from you! Denholm is pleased to be working with a premium spirits company, who are currently looking to recruit a Warehouse Operations Manager to join their growing team in Edinburgh.This is an exciting opportunity which will involve managing the day-to-day warehouse operations and maintenance of the businesses own and contract production. Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Management of all warehouse processes of single malt production and gin. Reductions, Bottling, Cask Filling and Storage.
  • Using SAP to control and manage the stocks
  • Working to tight deadlines for spirit filling and bottling
  • Flexibility from one day to the next to change production
  • Maintaining continuous production in varying conditions
  • Planning of all warehouse schedules, workload, and itineraries in production
  • Delivery coordination and management of goods from warehouse for both production and BH requirements.
  • Spirit receiving, handling and preparation for transport.
  • Stock control of raw materials and consumables using SAP (including ordering)
  • Managing the routine maintenance necessary for the day to day running of the production plant including (but not limited to) changing filters, bottling line maintenance, and tolls maintenance
  • Scheduling and leading the cleaning of equipment and production floor
  • Recording of all spirit produced and delivered on site and submission to HMRC
  • Inventory tracking across multiple sites using SAP
  • Liaising with external companies and contractors (Hazco, deep water blue, Babcock, eliminate, SEPA, council, environmental, Scottish water, etc) and coordinating safety onsite (permit to work, Covid sign in, etc)
Key skills and experience we are looking for:
  • Experience in a similar role, managing and developing people and teams within Warehouse Operations Management
  • Demonstrable experience with operations and logistics, continuous improvement methodologies, as well as quality, safety and environmental practices.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to build and sustain excellent business relationships internally and externally.
  • Demonstrable experiences of cost efficiency and management practices
  • Ability to diagnose operational and logistical issues and problem solve solutions to increase operational efficiencies and cost control.
  • Demonstrable Health & Safety knowledge with commitment to safe working practices.
  • Demonstrable experience of industry and regulatory compliance practices
  • Flexible, adaptable and calm when working under pressure.
  • Experienced using SAP
