Job Description

Arapidly growing FinTech is looking for a Test Engineer to be a key player in the next stage of their expansion. This is a fully remote work from home opportunity, you will be given £500 to purchase a desk and chair and £60 per month on top of your salaryas a remote working allowance. The company offer unlimited annual leave and an annual bonus scheme along with pension, medical insurance, life assurance and critical illness cover.The company is building the next generation of capabilities within the payment processing industry and are focused on building empowered teams that do great things. You will work in conjunction with product and engineering and will design and execute scenariosfor both new and existing projects. You will have strong analytical and technical skills, and proven experience testing enterprise-class systems. You will be working in a variety of different situations and types of projects, ranging from a team of one toa team of many; the working environment empowers Engineers and lets them focus on the technical challenges of solving problems, rather than dealing with bureaucracy or inefficient processes.As a Test Engineer you will:

  • Develop new and novel strategies from a users point of view for both functional and non-functional requirements.
  • From requirement specifications, develop plans/cases within a Lean/Agile Software Development framework
  • Use user stories to understand task items per story in the context of all levels of testing (unit, functional, integration, and regression).
  • Perform ad hoc / exploratory / user-acceptance methodically to ensure products are working as expected.
  • Conduct regression/integration as release moves through different environments before Production deployment
  • Work closely with Technology staff, including DevOps Engineers, Delivery, Product Management, to identify the scope of project/s and deliver services.
  • Continuously look for improvements within the companys methods and practices.
We are keen to speak to people about this Test Engineer role with the following skills and experience:
  • Demonstrable experience in a Test Engineering position
  • Able to demonstrate experience with the use of (BDD/TDD) frameworks including Junit / JBehave, Cucumber, etc.
  • Good acceptance and integration automation scripting experience, able to integrate with Continuous integration (Jenkins) and code coverage tools (Sonar, Clover)
  • Experience in regression testing as releases move through different environments.
  • You must have full understanding of software engineering concepts and methodologies/practices
  • Experience testing Web Services, Web UI, and APIs environments
Desirable skills
  • Coding or scripting experience would be beneficial
  • Good understanding of Linux / Unix
