Venesky-Browns client, a public sector organisation based in Edinburgh, are currently looking to recruit a Technical Cyber Security Engineer for an initial 6 month contract on a rate of £500-600/day (inside of IR35). Due to the current circumstances this role will initially be remote based. Responsibilities:• This role is for a highly technical security engineer who is able to hit the ground running, delivering on a number of security control improvement initiatives.• You will play a key role in delivering additional or improving existing security controls into the organisation - SIEM, Vulnerability Scanning, PAM, IAM, Secure File Transfer and data flow analysis (micro segmentation).• Where these tools already exist, you will work with the IT Security team to make improvements both technically and from a process point of view. • Where these tools are being delivered as part of a project, you will act as the technical SME ensuring that the controls are fit for purpose, well designed, well documented and able to be supported and further developed by the IT Security Team.Requirements: • Experience of multiple Information Security and Cyber technical domains within a corporate environment• In depth hands-on experience of IT security tools, controls, capabilities and security testing tools• Working knowledge of Best Practice Security Standards and Principles e.g. ISO/IEC 27001, NCSC Security Cloud Principles, NIST etc• LogRhythm or QRadar engineer experience• Nexpose / Insight VM engineer experience• Network security and segmentation experience• Previous experience coaching and providing feedback • Professional Security Qualification - e.g. CISSP, CISMDesirable Skills:• CCSP• Azure AZ500 Certification• Defining LINUX Security practisesIf you would like to hear more about this opportunity please get in touch.
