Job Description

SYSTEMS & REPORTING DEVELOPERLocation flexible£33,853 - £37,327 per annum SRUC is unique in Scotland and one of the largest organisations of its kind in Europe. Our ambitious and exciting vision is to work at local, national and international levels, leading innovation and sustainable development in agriculture and rural sectors.We are currently seeking an experienced Systems and Reporting Developer whose main function is to provide systems analysis, design and development of solutions, reports, interfaces, data models/warehouses, and facilities that integrate a range of student related application systems.In this role duties will include:

  • Analyse, devise, design, develop and implement information interfaces to allow the use of SRUC’s student information system, UnitE, by Academic staff.
  • Maintaining datasets and supporting the interfaces for statutory reporting.
  • Support technical set up of student information system structures and master data.
  • Specification, development of reports for and support of interfaces with other systems such as Moodle and Active Directory.
  • Data analysis and modelling to provide data warehouses/universes for interrogation by reports and queries.
  • Requirements analysis, specification and development of reports to support evidence-based decision making within the Academic division.
  • Test, problem solve and working with external stakeholders to ensure statutory reporting tools are fit for purpose.
  • Ensure developments and interfaces adhere to expected quality standards, including data privacy and information security requirements.
  • Requirements analysis, specification and development of reports to support evidence based decision making within the Academic division using tools such as SQL reporting services and Crystal reports.
  • Maintain excellent up-to-date knowledge of statutory reporting requirements and related legal obligations (e.g. HESA and FES).
  • Plan and manage workload during key seasonal peaks e.g. relating to the academic calendar cycle and externally-imposed deadlines (e.g. HESA and FES reporting).
