This post holder will participate in patient care within a multidisciplinary team in inpatient wards including the Surgical High Dependency Unit. There will be opportunities in protocol and policy development as well as a service development role, with particular focus on expanding one-stop dispensing to Surgical wards. We are looking for a dynamic, forward thinking and highly motivated individual to work with the Lead Pharmacist in this challenging but well supported role to further enhance the impact of Pharmacy across the unit. This role will also include supervision of junior pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and students.This would be an excellent position for an experienced band 6 pharmacist looking for progression or a current band 7 looking to diversify their experience, not only clinically but also in project planning and service development.Candidates must have a Master of Pharmacy Degree or equivalent, must be a member of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), and should have completed (or be close to completing) the NES Foundation Training for Pharmacists or equivalent. The individual should also have demonstrable clinical pharmacy experience. A diploma / MSc in clinical pharmacy or Independent Prescribing qualification is desirable.This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
