The Chief Security Office (CSO) plays a vital role in delivering Lloyds Banking Groups vision of putting customers at the heart of everything wedo, helping Britain prosper, and protecting the Group and its customers and suppliers from security threats. We define and communicate the Groups security strategy and provide dedicated support and constructive challenge to business areas to ensure the deliveryof an effective and compliant security risk management framework. Join us as part of the Security Operations Lab, we have investment to expand so be part of a growing team who help to monitor all security related activity! The Cyber Security Operations Centre (CSOC) plays a meaningful role in CSO as the first line of defenceto minimise the cyber threat by effectively handling the operational detective controls and responding to critical alerts through a 24x7 service! Working with a team of security experts to mitigate cyber security threats by monitoring IT systems for suspicious activity or threats using data collected from a variety of cyber defence tools to triage and analyse Tier 1 security alerts and respond to internaland external Cyber Threats. Act as an escalation point for your team members by further analysing and investigating events of interest and presenting to customers when vital. Operate as a functional specialist and own the provision of a Cyber Security servicesupporting the wider Group. Supervise the day to day activities of a small team and support more junior colleagues. Always role models the LBG values and behaviours and demonstrates strong Leadership behaviours. Role responsibilities are;

  • As a Tier 2 incident responder, undertake detailed incident analysis by relating data from various sources to assess if a critical system or data set has been impacted and recommend on appropriate remediation
  • Mentor, support and coach members of your team to improve detection capability and build versatility across the team. Act as a domain expert ("SME") and be on point to provide mentorship as the need arises (such as in an incident scenario). Respond toTier 1 issues if the SOC Analyst is unable to resolve appropriately or is absent
  • Provide quality control by regularly validating varied samples of work performed by all SOC colleagues and feedback overall performance of the Cyber SOC to the Shift Lead for review
  • Perform regular reviews of established processes with the team to see if they might represent improvements over existing methods
  • Take ownership of tasks/alerts and see them through to the end or provide a robust handover to your peers and deputise on occasion for your Shift Lead
  • Actively participate in regular meetings with the Senior Leadership and other team members (e.g. weekly tuning telephone calls and daily Incident Response meetings) and action any delegated responsibilities
Working Pattern We work a fixed 24x7 Shift Pattern (7am - 7pm, 7pm - 7am). This unfortunately doesn’t support part-time or flexible working options. However we do offer a hybrid working model which means 60% of your time is spent at home and 40% will be spent in the Edinburghoffice. Example pattern; Mon/Tues - Dayshift, Wed/Thurs - Night-shift (5 days rest) Wed/Thurs - Dayshift, Fri/Sat/Sun - Night-shift (4 days rest) Fri/Sat/Sun - Dayshift, Mon/Tues - Night-shift (5 days rest) Annual Salary + £13,500p.a Shift Allowance Crucial Requirements
  • A Cyber Security Degree
  • Performing as a Senior Cyber Security Analyst or equivalent for a minimum of 12 months
  • Require significant and in depth knowledge of specific Cyber Security applications and/or processes
  • Stakeholder Management
Desirable Requirements
  • Cyber Security professional qualification (i.e. Splunk Core Certified Power User, CompTIA Security+)
  • Leadership qualifications
