In the modern day, the university is future focussed, striving to achieve its vision andstrategy for 2030, focussing on 4 key areas: People, Research, Teaching & Learning and Social & Civic Responsibility.Within the university, the Scholarships and Student Funding team provide a single point of contact for prospective and enrolled students in finding the financial help and information they require to pursue their education.Your new roleYou will work closely with all team members, in particular, with the Deputy Head of Student Support Operations, the Manager of the Service, alongside the wider team, having delegated responsibility for key operational tasks with internal and external deadlines.The focus of the post is reporting on outcomes, development and enhancement of systems and processes, and team leadership.The post holder will take a key role in financial processes including audits and reconciliations of spend. The team engages with applicants, students, staff from colleges & schools and university services, alongside external stakeholders, including fundingbodies, US Education Department, and colleagues from other higher education institutions.The department often engages with students who are in financial crisis, which can be challenging, and training is provided for staff to support these interactions. You will engage with students on an individual level to identify the best possible outcomewithin the funds and framework available.You will work closely with team members to continue to reflect and improve on our systems, processes and services. Demonstrating a commitment to regular ContinuedProfessional Development is essential.What youll need to succeedIn this role, it is essential to have proven hands-on experience in a similar role, with an understanding of discretionary funding within further or higher education, and experience of implementing change in this setting.You will have a keen eye for detail, and the ability to analyse data, and assume financial responsibility.
