Job Description

Refugee Integration CoordinatorLocation - Edinburgh, City ChambersPay Rate - £14.33 per hourHours - 36 hours per weekContract - 6 Months plusThe Social Care Community Partnership are looking to recruit 3 Refugee Integration Coordinators for City of Edinburgh Council. The Refugee Integration Co-ordinator (RIC) will offer a person-centred service which supports the resettlement and integrationof individual refugees, asylum-seekers and their families and will co-ordinate the provision of services to meet the assessed needs of refugees and asylum seekers, facilitate their successful resettlement and integration and develop their independence andability to make positive choices about their lives.Key Responsibilities

  • Develop effective working relationships with refugees, asylum-seekers and their families including people with no recourse to public funds.
  • Work with them to assess needs, identify aspirations and develop individually tailored integration plans.
  • Work across organisational boundaries and develop effective partner relationships (particularly with the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) and Council Housing service) to support successful realisation of integration plans.
  • Work effectively with interpreters and clients whose first language is not English.
  • Undertake client assessments, write client reports and develop client action plans.
  • Contribute to provision of a duty service responding to initial referrals from partner organisations and spontaneous presentations.
Experience/Skills
  • SVQ 4 Health and Social Care or equivalent.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant national and local services, particularly housing and welfare benefits.
  • Experience of managing a social care/social work caseload preferably within the field of refugee integration.
  • Ability to build strong and respectful relationships with a range of individuals, organisations and services, taking time to identify their needs and identify ways we can work together effectively.
  • Good Listening and communication skills.
