Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Payroll Team Leader for an initial 4-month contract with option to extend on a rate of £16.26 - £19.26/hour PAYE (37 hours per week). This role will bea hybrid working model with some days based on site. Responsibilities:- Accountable for delivering an accurate, timely and compliant with statutory changes payroll and pensionservice, whilst achieving a first-class employee experience. The management and resolution of escalated pay/relocation/pension queries from within the team, via employees and 3rd parties- Supervising and leading a team of Payroll Officers and Administrators. This includes ensuring all manuals/workflows/desk instructions are kept up to date and ensuring development plans are in place for the team.- Supporting the Payroll Manager in forward planning of all payroll tasks required with the payroll annualtimetable and reporting requirements, ensuring the team and wider stakeholders are aware of any upcoming tasks or challenges. Support the Manager in process improvement and strategic interventions to further improve the payroll service to meet current and futurebusiness requirements and ensure regulatory compliance.- Provide quality assurance to management in all matters relating to PPRS compliance through performing routine checks on payroll output, reconciliations, implementing quality control measures, and facilitating audits.- Collaborate with local HR teams to create, build and enhance strong working relationships with the aim toprovide an efficient and effective service to employees throughout the organization and ensure the accurate flow information.- Lead the delivery of new payroll projects, implementations and enhancement of Payroll systems and processesEssential Skills:- Five National 5 qualifications, including English and Maths/Arithmetic or equivalent or proven relevant work experience.- Attained Certificate in Payroll Practice or equivalent or willing to work towards.- Experience of working in a payroll function or HR environment with exposure to the payroll function.- Proven track record in Payroll data administration and compliance with GDPR and Data Protection Legislation.- Experience of issue identification through providing secondary quality assurances and delivering solutions at pace in order to provide excellent customer service.If you would like to hear more about this opportunity, please get in touch.
