The team is based at the Melville Unit, Royal Hospital for Children and Young People at the Edinburgh Bioquarter campus and works with young people (usually aged 12-18) who are experiencing complex and severe mental health problems (including depression, eating disorders, and psychosis). The young people will be receiving support from CAMHS as day patients, inpatients or from the assertive outreach team.The team provide Occupational Therapy which aims to improve health and well being through participation in occupation. More information on Childrens Occupational Therapy can be found on:The OT Assistant works with young people individually and in groups supporting them to identify and build interests, skills, motivation and confidence. He or she will work within the CAMHS department but will also often use community facilities with young people.The successful candidate will enjoy being in the company of young people, be friendly, empathic, energetic, practical and creative. They will work well as part of a team with good communication skills. He or she will be well supported by the OT team, with regular supervision and development.**Please note: we anticipate a high level of interest in this position and may close the vacancy early once a sufficient amount of applications are received.
