Job Description

Pertemps have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Nursey Manager to join a Public Sector organisation on a permanent basis.We are looking for an experienced manager with a strong preschool focus who can support and develop the current team. Candidates must be registered with SSSC as a Manager/Leader of Day Care setting and must have a minimum of 2 years management experience ina similar role within the last five years.Salary: £42,118 per annumHours: 35hrs per weekLocation: Edinburgh basedResponsibilities

  • Daily responsibility and running of the nursery
  • Leading self-evaluation and maintaining a high-quality learning environment
  • Working with the College Senior Management team to develop the nursery and drive enrolment
  • Develop effective working relationships with local professionals
  • Continue the current projects to develop outdoor learning and maximise the use of the internal space
  • Work with the Childhood Practice team to support Edinburgh College students with opportunities for placements and observations
  • Developing strong parent partnerships and family support systems
Experience Required
  • Recognised childcare qualificationSCQF Level 9/ Early Years Degree/BA Childhood Practice
  • SSSC Registration
  • Evidence of professional development since qualifying
  • Minimum of 5 years experience, of which 3 years must include management of staff in a similar childcare setting
  • Experience of planning, record keeping and assessment for children aged 0-3 years
  • Knowledge of the pre-birth to 3 documents
  • Experience of planning a suitable curriculum for 3-5-year-olds, and a sound working knowledge of the Curriculum for Excellence
  • Experience of the Care inspectorate/HMIe inspection process and requirements with regard to this. Experience of budgetary controls and procedures
  • Experience of Child Protection procedures and their implementation
  • A wide knowledge of current childcare practice
