Job Description

Network Architect - Edinburgh - To 75K plus benefitsLoriens central Edinburgh based client - a rapidly growing firm operating in the Telecomms field with exciting plans to increase their client base by tenfold over the next couple of years - is currently looking to bolster its team in the shape of a keynew addition to their Networking squad.Right now theyre looking to recruit the talents of a Network Architect (or Senior / Lead Network Engineer who can step up) with a breadth of knowledge and skills across the domain to come on board and drive the design and implementation of networking solutionsfor a range of customers across Scotland.Right now its an exciting time to join the team, make a name for yourself, and grow technically and professionally within an ambitious organisation with solid funding behind them and a healthy pipeline of work in front, all the while helping a range ofcustomers and putting your expertise to good use.The kind of duties involved:

  • Troubleshoot networks to identify and diagnose any issues that arise
  • Manage technical network solutions and frameworks from network planning/design/modelling to development, bench testing, design build phases, and analysis
  • Ensure strong relationships with 3rd parties/tech vendors/suppliers
  • Meet customers on-site (around once per quarter or so) to install/upgrade solutions, and otherwise offer remote technical services from the base in Edinburghs city centre
  • Organise network capacity assessments for current/future network builds and customer expansions
  • Craft and deliver proposals and design documentation
  • Identify new tech to improve performance and reduce costs where possible
The skills/knowledge were looking for:
  • Strong working knowledge of Juniper, or Cisco and willing to cross over
  • Track record acting as a hands-on senior / leader in the Network Engineering domain, with the drive and technical skills to design, implement and help to ensure the smooth operation of key complex network solutions
  • Juniper / Cisco qualifications or similar ( JNCP / CCNA /etc.)
  • Knowledge across the following areas/similar: OSS / BSS, BGP, OSPF, MPLS
