Job Description

Lead Network Engineer - Edinburgh - To 60K plus benefitsLoriens Edinburgh based client - a rapidly growing organisation in the Telecoms domain with exciting plans to double their client base by the end of next year - is currently looking to bolster its team in the shape of a couple of a key new additions totheir Network team.On this occasion, theyre looking to recruit the talents of a Lead-level Network Engineer or Architect with a breadth of knowledge and skills across tech such as Juniper (or Cisco and willing to learn cross over), IP Routing, Operations Support and BusinessSupport Systems and other relevant areas to come on board and drive the design and implementation of networking solutions for a range of customers across Scotland.The skills/knowledge were looking for:

  • Strong working knowledge of Juniper (or Cisco and willing to cross over)
  • A hands-on leader in the Network Engineering domain, with the drive and technical expertise to design, implement and help to ensure the smooth operation of key complex network solutions
  • Juniper Networks Certification Program, CCNA or similar qualifications
  • Knowledge across the following areas/similar:
    • Operations Support and Business Support Systems
    • Fibre To The Premise
    • Fixed Wireless Access
    • Border Gateway Protocol
    • Open Shortest Path First
    • Multiprotocol Label Switching
    • Quality of Service
The kind of duties involved:
  • Troubleshoot networks to identify and diagnose any issues that arise
  • Manage technical network solutions and frameworks from network planning/design/modelling to development, bench testing, design build phases, and analysis
  • Ensure strong relationships with 3rd parties/tech vendors/suppliers
  • Meet customers on-site to install and upgrade solutions or offer remote technical services across multiple locations
  • Organise network capacity assessments for current/future network builds and customer expansions
  • Craft and deliver proposals and design documentation
  • Identify new tech to improve performance and reduce costs where possible
