Job Description

Junior GIS Product Owner - £25,000 - Edinburgh (Remote) Are you looking for an exciting new role working with Geographic Information Systems Then Ive got the perfect role for you! My client one of the countries market leaders in GIS are on a rapid growth trajectory. They are looking for a Junior GIS Product Owner to join their dynamic team. They are in search for an individual with the capabilities to own and support sourcing, managingand maintaining spatial datasets, and carrying out analysis. You will also contribute to the product team, where you will improve products and ways of working.This is a fully remote role!Your responsibilities as a Junior GIS Product Owner

  • Prioritising the GIS product backlog in line with our company goals
  • Working with existing product owners, engineers and developers to support sprint planning, requirement definitions and implementation validation as part of an agile development and release process
  • Ensuring clear product vision, creating user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Sourcing, managing and maintaining spatial datasets
  • Carrying out geospatial analysis pre-capture
  • Analysing captured data
The client is looking for
  • Strong communication skills
  • A willingness to learn and solve problems
  • A well organised individual with a structured approach to work and ability to multitask
  • Excellent time management to meet different priorities and deadlines
  • Desire to work in Product and GIS
  • Desktop GIS skills (QGIS preferred)

  • BE/ FE development experience
  • Experience using Python to automate GIS procedure
  • Experience sourcing and maintaining spatial data
  • Data management experience
  • Experience communicating spatial data to non-technical audiences
  • A passion for the geospatial industry!
