Job Description

iMultiply are working in partnership with a leading professional services business based in Edinburgh who are looking to recruit a Financial Accountant on a permanent basis.This role will be based in Edinburgh on a hybrid basis, 3 days in the office and offers a basic salary up to £55,000 DoE.-The CompanyThe company is renowned as one of Edinburgh top professional service employers which has been achieved by providing an exciting, innovative and challenging working environment for its employees. The chosen candidate will become an integral part of a thriving and innovative Group, presenting an exciting opportunity to specialise on financial andreporting technicalities.The role will support the team and be responsible for maintaining financial records and for providing relevant information for managers and decision makers.To be considered you must possess strong technical accounting skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders right across the businessYou will be involved in but not restricted to the following duties:

  • Assist the Financial Controller with meeting all current and upcoming statutory reporting requirements and be proactive in keeping up to date with any changes in accounting standards and guidelines.
  • Lead in the adoption of Tax Basis Period reform and Making Tax Digital initiatives working closely with our tax advisors as the main point of contact.
  • Preparation of Statutory Annual Accounts at Consolidated level.
  • Assist the Financial Controller with year end and preparation for subsequent year end audit being the main point of contact for the auditors.
  • Working with other members of the Financial Reporting Team to prepare quarterly VAT returns.
  • Assisting the Financial Controller in preparation of the corporation tax return.
  • Assisting the Financial Controller with all aspects of partnership accounting.
  • Completion of the monthly Balance Sheet assisting with Financial ledger reconciliations.
  • Working closely with the Financial Controller and Senior Management Accountant on projects required by the Financial Reporting Team.
  • Training and supporting other members of the Financial Reporting team.
  • Dealing with duties of other Financial Reporting team members in their absence including but not restricted to daily reporting and maintenance of charge out rates on the system.
To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience:
  • Qualified Accountant (ICAS, ACCA, ICAEW,) is essential.
  • Proactive self-starter with proven ability to problem solve complex issues.
  • Must have sound knowledge and expertise with core IT packages including advanced use of excel
  • Excellent communicator and strong team player.
  • Presence of character to command respect and build productive and collaborative working relationships at all levels
