Job Description

An exciting opportunity available for an Event Coordinator to contribute to the planning, supervision, and execution of a range of procedures to assist in the successful delivery of a special project.Working for the SQA (Scottish Qualifications Authority) this is a great opportunity to work within a rewarding environment whilst gaining experience in the Events team.Situated in the superb location of Shawfair out with Dalkeith/ Edinburgh, the office is easily accessible by car with free parking on site and great bus links to the nearby bus station.

  • Hours: 35 hours per week with overtime at weekends when required
  • Pay: £11.00 per hour
  • £16.50 for all hours over 37 and £22.00 per hour after 37 and on a Sunday
  • Duration: March 2022 for 3 - 4 months initially
  • Location: Shawfair, Dalkeith/ Midlothian
  • Must hold driving licence as travel required in and around Edinburgh
Main Duties
  • Be responsible for identifying requirements and deploying resource effectively to ensure that tasks are completed accurately, timeously and within organisation policies and procedures for the Procedural Programme.
  • Be able to build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues and markers/ venues to ensure a high level of customer service.
  • Ensure that team members adhere to standard operating procedures in the delivery of service within Events Planning/ Servicing operations.
  • Ensure that all operations staff are trained and adhere to standards; create, maintain and develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Receive and report feedback from customers and clients and to actively make efforts to address any issues, seeking to identify continuous improvement opportunities wherever possible.
  • Full administrative support within the Event team to ensure a smooth running of the exam period
Skills/Experience Required
  • Previous event experience would be desired but not required
  • Proficient IT skills including MS Office packages
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative
  • Driving licence - SQA will provide car and insurance
