Job Description

The Role: 6 month Secondment/ FTC M&G Wealth forms part of the Retail & Savings (R&S) organisation. The Director of Proposition and Marketing, will report directly to the MD of M&G Wealth, forming part of the Wealth Leadership team and will be responsible for all Propositional activity forM&G Wealth as well as all Marketing activity for R&S (of which the significant proportion, particularly marketing to support growth, will be for M&G Wealth).

  • Leading all M&G Wealth Proposition activity, which includes the development and management of all M&G Wealth (inc entity specific) propositions. This is a holistic proposition development which encompasses; insight, product development, propositional design(service, experience and targets), pricing and take to market. This also includes the strategic development, maintenance and enhancement of the M&G Wealth Proposition, the championing of good customer outcomes, management and mitigation of any conduct risks,strong commercial outcomes.
  • Leading all marketing activity for R&S, with a strong focus on driving the overall M&G Wealth growth agenda. This role will lead the R&S marketing teams responsible for taking M&Gs full set of products and propositions to UK and international markets.Accountability will span across developing R&S marketing strategy, proposition marketing (including all campaign activity), websites, compliance, social media and Brand. The role will have to work very closely with central external communication and PR Teamsto develop a comprehensive comms plan to support the R&S strategy.
  • Embedding a customer centric culture across M&G Wealth through the provision of proposition, marketing and reporting on progress that is centred on the needs of clients and customers. The role holder will work closely with the business leads across M&GWealth providing insight, support, guidance and challenge on all matters relating to customer.
  • Works closely with Market, Adviser and Customer insight for M&G Wealth with a focus on input to the proposition design, which would cover, Service, Product and Distribution insights that will help to position M&G Wealth services in the market.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Define and execute the take to market approach in respect of all M&G Wealth proposition, marketing and insight activity to maximise growth in the market and support M&G Wealth achieving its objectives
  • Lead the newly created Proposition, Marketing and Insight function creating stability, and open and collaborative culture which supports and develops talent.
  • To be accountable for driving a digitally enabled and commercial function, leveraging the benefits of new technology and using insights to drive propositional, marketing and insight activity
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • Significant experience in leading proposition development in UK retail markets, including platforms, and how to develop and manage propositions for different segments of the UK market.
  • Significant experience in leading Proposition governance and maintenance, ensuring rigourous focus on delivering good customer outcomes and value for money
  • Significant omni-channel marketing experience
  • Expert knowledge of industry digital and omni-channel initiatives and technologies
  • Detailed knowledge of our target customers and their needs, behaviours, instincts and experiential requirements
  • Experience leading large, multi-disciplined teams in a highly regulated environment
  • Financial Services knowledge, especially around tax wrappers, asset management, investment markets and the UK Retail and Wholesale markets
  • Regulatory and legislative requirements around uk manufacturing and distribution of financial products
  • Commercial acumen & insight

  • Effective written and presentation skills
