Running Community Liaison Officer Remote Location or EdinburghFlexible hours-part time£25,000-£30,000 depending on experienceSharing the Joy of Runningwww.skamper.appAbout Skamper Skampers mission is to create an app that makes running fun while also helping runners improve their performance. We aim to provide a joyful and engaging experience that motivates users to get out and run, and to offer tools and resources that help themtrack their progress and achieve their running goals. By combining enjoyment and improvement, we hope to help runners of all abilities reach their full potential and discover the joy of running.Weve been developing the app with a great team of designers and developers since November and we will have an alpha version for testing very soon. We have big plans for some valuable and innovative features but we are focussing on making sure the basicsare right first. We are a small team of enthusiastic runners, currently based in Edinburgh, Cumbria and Cheshire but working with people remotely in London, Brazil and Bangladesh. The RoleYour job will be to develop relationships with groups of runners and encourage them to download and try our free app, run the routes, and provide feedback where they feel there is an issue we need to address. You may also encourage users to submit theirown routes for consideration and will guide them through the process.Groups of runners may include recognised running clubs, local networks, facebook groups and regular runs organized by shops and other runners. You will identify these groups by internet search focussing on specific areas of the country. The group organiseror administrator will be contacted with a personalized email, explaining Skampers mission and details of how to get started on the app with the objective of this being shared amongst the group. You may have to answer questions or provide additional informationand will follow up all initial contacts to determine whether they have become Skamper users and gather any feedback. You will be an ambassador for Skamper and our representative amongst a very important community of runners. The job will be based at home and hours are genuinely flexible to suit you. It is likely that you will do a few hours each day but the role is nottime critical and it may be that there are days in the week that you dont work at all. We are not running a customer service centre and we do not see this role as covering social media. It is based on one to one interaction with like minded people. The person - Community Liaison Officer You must be a runner and a regular user of Strava, the most popular app amongst runners. One of the most frequently asked questions will be how Skamper differs, and you will therefore need to explain this with authority. How fast you run is much less importantthan the joy you get from it and can share with others. If you are already involved in a running group, or better still organise one, then that would be very attractive. You will need access to a computer and good connectivity and will be disciplined, well organised, efficient, and tenacious in tracking down the right contacts within the running groups. You need to be able to communicate clearly and accurately with a suitabletone for the community of which you will be a part. You will need to be self motivated enough to deal with disinterest or rejection from those who do immediately share your enthusiasm for Skamper. We currently use the Google suite of products and will introducea simple database system to help manage this activity. The successful candidate may be able to suggest something in this area.Start date and hoursWe envisage the role being around 15-20 hours a week but are flexible on this, depending on the requirements of the candidate. Start date to suit the right candidate but likely within the next few weeks. Initial term likely to be around 1-2 months then extendedif the app launch and adoption is successful with the objective of it becoming a permanent position.ProcessPlease send a CV and brief summary of your running experience, together with an indication of how many hours you would like to work in a typical week, to info at Skamper App and Kirsty or Stephen will respond. We practice a diverse and inclusive recruitment process that ensures equal opportunity for all we work with, irrespective of race, sexual orientation, mental or physical disability, age or gender. As an organisation, we encourage applications from all backgroundsand will ensure measures are met when required, to allow a fair process throughout.
