Job Description

Join us as an Asset Management Financial Control Manager

  • Youll support the bank in the delivery of end-to-end financial control activity through the preparation and management of accounts, reconciliation schedules and other supporting documentation
  • Well look to you to proactively establish and maintain strong working relationships with key customers and stakeholders and the wider finance team

  • We offer a hybrid way of working where youll be based in our Edinburgh office at least two days a week, with the rest of your time working from home
What youll doAs an Asset Management Financial Control Manager, youll be accountable for the delivery and integrity of monthly, quarterly and annual financial information, including balance sheet, profit and loss account, and internal and external reporting. Youll ensurecompliance with the appropriate statutory, regulatory, corporate and professional standards and controls, supporting the asset management business in meeting its regulatory requirements. Day to day, youll:
  • Provide support with input into the asset management legal entity boards
  • Complete value-added reporting and analysis to meet our customers needs
  • Provide control oversight over our third party fund accountant
  • Work with the team to standardise processes and outputs and to undertake continuous improvement activity
The skills youll needTo succeed in this role, youll bring a wealth of knowledge and experience in financial control, preferably gained within a financial services environment or medium to large corporates. Youll have worked in a global context, and will demonstrate a proven abilityto build strong working relationships with a variety of stakeholders and customers across organisations and geographical boundaries, influencing and challenging as required. E xperience in supervising outsourced services such as fund accounting or transferagency services would be a bonus. Youll also hold a professional accounting qualification or have significant relevant experience. Well also look to you to bring:
  • Fund accounting or fund audit experience with relevant sector knowledge
  • Relevant commercial insight and up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and knowledge of UCITS funds, from day-to-day operations
  • Experience in current and future finance technologies such as Oracle, Tableau or Python
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly and succinctly articulate issues to senior management
  • Demonstrable commitment to continuous improvement activity
  • An astute eye for detail, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to deliver high quality outputs to tight deadlines
