Job Description

Area Sales Manager - Plumbing and HeatingJob Title: Area Sales Manager - Plumbing & HeatingIndustry Sector: Domestic boilers, Plumbing & Heating Contractors, Plumbing & Heating Installers, Plumbing and Heating MerchantsArea to be covered: East ScotlandRemuneration: £40,000-£45,000 Neg. + 20% BonusBenefits: Fully expensed Hybrid Car + Comprehensive BenefitsThe role of the Area Sales Manager - Plumbing & Heating will involve:

  • Field sales position selling a new and existing range of domestic boilers
  • 60% of your time stimulating demand with plumbing & heating installers and contractors
  • 40% managing circa 100 active national and independent plumbing & heating merchants
  • Responsible for an area achieving circa 1,600-1,700 boiler unit sales per annum
  • Area currently achieving budget
  • 60% account managing existing relationships with merchants (nationals include Plumbase, Grahams, Wolseley, City Plumbing etc.) and contractors / installers
  • 40% new business development
  • Comprehensive product training will be provided
The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager - Plumbing & Heating with:
  • Plumbing & heating associated field sales experience
  • Ideally worked for a manufacturer and sold to plumbing contractors/ installers
  • Previous experience of selling into plumbing & heating merchants is not essential
  • Stable career history
  • Specific knowledge of boilers is not required, our client is happy to consider allied industry experience such as heating controls, chemicals, heating, plumbing, sanitaryware, pipes, fittings, water heaters etc.
  • New business hunter and excellent account management skills
  • Proven track record in field sales and territory management
  • Autonomous, organised and honest in approach
  • Trustworthy and self motivated
