Team OverviewThe role sits within Ofcoms Spectrum Assurance team under the Spectrum Group Directorate. Included in Ofoms statutory obligations is managing the UK civil radio spectrum under the 2006 Wireless Telegraphy Act. The role contributes towards Ofcom missionof making communications work for everyone in the UK by maintaining an interference free radio spectrum.Purpose of the RoleThe role is a 2 - year apprenticeship and the key purpose is to gain knowledge and experience in managing the civil radio spectrum in Scotland including tracing sources of harmful radio interference and follow up appropriate level of sanction. During theapprenticeship, progress will be guided and mentored by a Senior Spectring Engineering Officer. Following successful progression to Spectrum Engineering after two years, the role will be solely managing radio spectum in a geographical area in Scotland. Thejob holder will be reporting to the Nations Operations Manager and based at the Ofcom Edinburgh Office.Key responsibilitiesThe job holders key responsibilities will be as follows:
