Job Description

System AdministratorFlexibility, family, respect, trust and inspiring. Over time Pico Technology has grown and now has offices in Germany, Manchester, USA and China.We are looking for a System Administrator to join our IT Support team. Our IT support department are responsible for providing IT support all staff to ensure maximum uptime of services. The IT support team are essential to operations of the business and the System Administrator will liaise with all departments of the business up to director level.The main responsibilities of this role will be:· Administration of the core business systems· Backup and restoration of servers· Troubleshooting and identifying potential problems· Documenting and configuration of the system· Responsible for computer/data security· Mentor more junior members of the team· Evaluate new technologies to improve internal systemsTo complete these responsibilities, we are looking for the following skills:

  • Windows infrastructure (Active Directory).
  • Networking (Routers, switches, firewalls).
  • Linux infrastructure experience will also be of benefit or a desire to learn.
  • Web server configuration (Apache, PHP) is preferred.
  • Database server administration experience.
  • Be able to self manage as well as be a team player.
  • Excellent communication skills.
