SCCS Survey Equipment Ltd is currently looking for a Machine Control Service Technician tojoin our team based in St Neots with occasional travel to sites as and when needed. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis and in return, you will receive a competitive salary.SCCS are a Leica Geosystems UK dealer and part of the Hexagon group. We are a progressive company supplying survey solutions to civil engineering, construction and land surveying industries. We specialise in bringing innovative technology to market including the most advanced GNSS, mobile mapping, 3D laser scanners, UAV’S and total station solutions available to geospatial professionals.Purpose of the Machine Control Service Technician role:You will have a strong focus on maintaining and controlling the entire Machine Control fleet and its availability so as to provide a proactive approach to delivering a fluid and seamless hire and return process. You will also be assisting with the installation of Machine Control products and external duties.Key responsibilities as our Machine Control Service Technician will include:- Ensuring all equipment is in a good condition and ready for hire- Servicing and identifying returned items for loss and damage- Liaising with customers who come in to collect equipment- Liaising with Hire team / Repairs team and Internal Sales teams- Picking and checking all equipment before items are dispatched or made ready for hire- Ensuring all Stock moves are entered onto the database and maintaining stock levels are accurate- Daily communication with Machine Control Installation team- Keeping Machine Control Stores neat and tidy and in line with business Health & Safety- Providing technical support and training to customers for Machine Control hardware and software when required- Carrying out fault diagnosis to Machine Control panels and accessories- Interaction with logistics and repairs teams to facilitate timely processing of instruments- Ensuring all Machine Control software is within calibration and up to dateWhat we’re looking for in our Machine Control Service Technician: - Strong communication (verbal and written)- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail- Ability to work effectively and constructively in a team environment or independently- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment- Developed and practiced problem-solving and decision-making skills- Confidentiality and personal integrity are key characteristics- A strong aptitude to technology and associated software developments- The ability to perform all duties in a positive and professional manner- Communicate at all levels with technical knowledge to varying levels of understanding in a simple and coherent manner- Strong practical problem-solving capabilities and ability to quickly analyze, identify, define and resolve issues within a timely manner- Show the ability to operate well under severe technical, time and customer pressuresTo join us as our Machine Control Service Technician please click ‘apply’ today – we’d love to hear from you!
