Our responsibilities include: • Plan and deliver major capital projects and lifecycle refurbishment • Provide utilities services • Manage soft facilities management (i.e. cleaning and catering) • Provide a safe place to train • Allocate Service Families Accommodation • Procure and manage routine maintenance and reactive repair • Provide a central register of asset information to advise infrastructure planning • Act as steward of the Defence estate • Provide the unarmed guarding service We employ approximately 4,900 staff from a very diverse range of professions, and we work across the world; in Germany, Cyprus and the Falkland Islands, Norway, Poland, Kenya, Belize, Nepal and Oman. You can view our YouTube video to see more about our work Job descriptionThe ChallengeAbout the Corporate Services DirectorateThe Corporate Services directorate is at the centre of the DIO. It brings together DIO governance, parliamentary business, transformation and change, and communications expertise to ensure that the organisation delivers for Defence, the Government, and the General Public. At the same time supporting our delivery colleagues by ensuring that the organisation is correctly configured to allow them to focus on what needs to be done to support our customers. It is home of both the DIO Policy, Strategy and Parliamentary, and Corporate Support (Secretarial) professions. Transformation & ChangeThe Transformation and Change consists of three areas which provides i) the governance and approach for managing changes to the way the business operates (PfMO), ii) the approach and coherence for the evolving DIO’s operating model (Business Design) and iii) the approach and coherence of implementing changes within the business (Business Change). The Transformation and Change team support the Defence Infrastructure Organisation lead and manage internal change, driving efficiency for our customers, our suppliers and our people. With the recent launch of a new corporate strategy, this is a really exciting and opportune time to join our team! DIO is on a journey of continuous improvement, with a clear future ambition for the next 10 years. We will be helping the business identify, deliver and embed activities to transform DIO into an expert advisory and delivery business, and we are looking for project management professionals who can help us do this. You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of change activities, and working collaboratively with a wide range of business stakeholders to drive coherence and effective decision making. Summary of the RoleThe role will be responsible for leading the definition and oversight of the programmes and projects that will deliver DIO’s strategic objectives. You will work closely with the Head of Transformation and Change to provide executive-level insight into the emerging portfolio to enable effective governance, whilst providing support to change leaders in the business to achieve coherent change solutions, where activity and resources are prioritised in line with the benefits they deliver. This role will operate and develop DIO’s Change Framework, working with teams across the business to develop portfolio, programme and project management (P3M) capability to deliver DIO’s internal change portfolio. LocationDIO Transformation and Change are based across the UK including Sutton Coldfield, Andover and London. We offer a flexible base location for this role and will therefore make one of these locations your duty station where possible. Where this is not possible we will look to assign an alternative MOD establishment as your duty station. Work location will be agreed once the successful candidate has been selected.Responsibilities• The portfolio lead will facilitate the definition of change projects and programmes including benefit identification and prioritisation accordingly. • Operate a governance framework that drives coherence and benefit delivery, providing the DIO Executive Committee with visibility and insight to enable them to take timely decisions to deliver the DIO’s strategic objectives. • Chair governance boards in absence of Head of T&C, taking decisions on portfolio development including in response to escalated risks, issues or opportunities. • Cultivate and manage a range of relationships and key strategic alliances with all stakeholders. • Lead senior stakeholders in regularly reviewing the continuing relevance of initiatives based on a clear understanding of cos
