Job Description

Membership Development Officer - Part Time - Midlands Are you looking for a part-time role Are you based in the Midlands Do you have experience in membership development or training Do you have a passion for engineeringIlluminate are delighted to be working with an international membership organisation that promotes and advances engineering around the world. We are recruiting a Membership Development Officer on a part-time basis to provide support, advice and training to potential and existing members across the Midlands.The role is home based working 3 days a week with frequent travel across the East Midlands. What will your focus beReporting into the Membership Manager you will provide support, advise and training to potential and existing members and promote the institute qualifications. You will engage with organisations, education providers and individuals in the East Midlands regionto maximise their potential. What you will be responsible or in your new role

  • Business development - promote and grow membership in the east midlands region
  • Providing advice and guidance to members and non members
  • Providing advice and guidance to employers on professional development
  • Advising Further and Higher Education students on membership and career available
  • Develop and market activities to progress and support members and advise on different routes to membership
  • Oversee the operation of employers and mentor supported programmes
What skills, experience and knowledge will you need to be successful
  • Experience in civil engineering, learning and development or membership development
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Previous business development experience would be an advantage
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with people at all levels of seniority
  • The ability to prepare and deliver presentations, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Happy to work independently and as part of a multi-functional team.
  • Strong Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
