Job Description

Our client, based in the East Midlands, is currently recruiting for a Floating Support Worker on a temporary contract for two months. The position is due to start immediately, and on a full-time basis.The candidate must have worked with victims of domestic abuse, and hold an Enhanced DBS dated within the past three years.Duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Provide support to female victims of domestic abuse over the phone
  • Offer support to a rolling case load of service users over a two week period
  • Work within a fast moving environment to ensure time is managed effectively whilst also ensuring maximum support is given within a two week time frame
  • Create tailored support plans and carry out risk assessments on a regular basis
  • Liaise with third parties when necessary to arrange appointments and additional support for the clients
  • Record client data on an electronic case management system and ensure all details are kept up to date
  • Act both sensitively and intelligently when offering support to victims at all times
  • Experience required:
  • Worked with victims of domestic abuse
  • Minimum two years’ experience within the sector
  • Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
  • Empathetic
  • Able to provide a high level of support over the phone
  • Able to work effectively from home
  • Able to deal with emotional situations in a calm and professional manner
  • Organised and good communication skills
  • Enhanced DBS dated within three years
