About DIO The Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) is the estate expert for Defence, supporting the armed forces to enable military capability by planning, building, maintaining, and servicing infrastructure. Our responsibilities include: • Plan and deliver major capital projects and lifecycle refurbishment • Provide utilities services • Manage soft facilities management (i.e. cleaning and catering) • Provide a safe place to train • Allocate Service Families Accommodation • Procure and manage routine maintenance and reactive repair • Provide a central register of asset information to advise infrastructure planning • Act as steward of the Defence estate • Provide the unarmed guarding service We employ approximately 4,900 staff from a very diverse range of professions including head office functions and specialisms such as surveyors, town planners, airfield pavement experts, foresters and construction engineers. There are positions in several different areas of our business, and we are looking for Commercial Professionals to work in the following areas: Projects and ConstructionYou will support the strategic relationship with suppliers and senior internal stakeholders while building collaboration within and across organisational boundaries. You will develop and manage key sourcing activities to meet project goals while minimising risk and ensuring Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) is considered. You will be the trusted advisor in sourcing and commercial initiatives to both, stakeholders and your team members, ensuring compliance to the appropriate processes and operating procedures. Your primary function will be the creation and delivery of commercial strategies for projects within an existing programme pipeline. That will provide a resilient and efficient infrastructure support across the MOD’s estate. Contract ManagementThrough the effective management of our UK and International Contracts you will support disposal of land and delivery of Hard or Soft Facilities Management. You will be the trusted advisor for these contracts to strategic suppliers, our customers and your team members. Your primary function will be to actively manage and monitor these essential service contracts in line with the Contract Management Plan and ensuring compliance to the appropriate processes and operating procedures. SourcingYou will support the procurement and competitive tendering of service contracts to support a large and varied range of projects from capital works, facilities management to the acquisition and disposal of land. You will develop sourcing strategies in partnership with project and customer stakeholders in line with current legislation and Government/MOD policy and procedures. You will lead competitive tendering through to contract award and management through a variety of sources which includes EU Procurement Regulations, Defence Contract Regulations, Defence Security and Procurement Contract Regulations, Single Source Contract Regulations or competitive call off through Frameworks.
