Essex Outdoors are recruiting for several Catering Assistants to join their team for 2020, starting in May / June 2020. Please note that these positions are being offered on a Fixed Term Contract basis for a period of 4 - 5 months and are based at Rewsalls Lane, Mersea Island, CO5 8SX. The RoleWorking on one of our very busy sites and as part of a team, you will assist Chefs and Cooks in providing three great choice and quality meals a day for up to 500 residential visitors. You will be working with a friendly team of people, in an environment thats fast paced and full of energy. Free meals will be provided during working hours.Responsibilities * Responsible for basic food preparation * Washing up, using a fully automated machine and cleaning some larger cooking items by hand * To ensure that cleanliness is maintained within the facilities and are adequately stocked * To maintain a high standard of personal and general cleanliness and hygiene to comply with statutory regulations. * To use powered cleaning and catering equipment in accordance with the relevant safety requirements As part of employment with Essex County Council (ECC) should your role require a DBS check you will be required to register with the DBS update service. The DBS update service ensures all registered DBS certificates are kept up to date and allows authorised parties to view the status of your certificate.
