Job Description

About The Company:Our client is looking for a Business Development Specialist to join their rapidly growing and innovative information consulting, software and services company catering to clients in a vast array of industries (Finance, Insurance, Legal, Pharma, Public Sectorand Retail).Our client is undergoing a period of growth both in terms of the volume of work and the range of services they seek to offer. This is what has caused them to expand and has allowed for this role to be created which will cover the UK and Ireland.We are looking for a dynamic individual with a track record in sales who possesses great people skills and is eager to progress rapidly under the guidance of the Sales & Marketing Director.The role will be a hybrid role so you must have the ability to work independently and must be able to occasionally travel around the UK and Ireland as the work may require client site visits. Attendance at their head office in London (Aldgate East) for at leastone day per week will be required and office facilities are available for meetings in central Dublin.About You:The ideal candidate will have experience selling software and services, ideally as part of a solution sale, and be ready to make the move into an environment with great potential and with the opportunity for the right person to progress rapidly within the business.The ideal candidate will be a graduate but that requirement can be waived for a candidate with the right experience and a proven track recordDuties will include but not be limited to:

  • Generating revenue opportunities within the existing client base and conversion of incoming leads
  • Working with partners to generate, develop and close opportunities for the company portfolio
  • Managing revenue opportunities from initial interest through to signed contract
  • All the usual activity associated with business development including giving presentations, writing proposals, attending meetings, negotiating pricing and reviewing contracts
Salary and Package:
  • Annual salary of £40,000 per annum + £15K OTE
  • A commission package designed to amount to a minimum of £15,000 if revenue targets are hit (details of the commission package will be sent separately)
  • An annual leave entitlement of 25 days per annum
  • Access to an automatic work-based pension enrolment scheme
Our client will also work with you to understand your long-term career aspirations to ensure you have the development and growth opportunities needed to achieve these.About the Role:The function of this role will be to increase sales of the whole company portfolio (consultancy, software and services) primarily within the information security pillar and within that the new Information Security Assessments service.The responsibilities of the role will include:
  • Driving sales and profitability by executing the sales strategy
  • Increasing profit margins
  • Solution development
  • Account management
  • Sales administration
  • Driving and developing the sales proposition
  • Contributing to the development of marketing initiatives and campaigns
  • Helping improve ways of working across the department
  • You will have access to a shared support (administration) resource.
Role Requirements:
  • Knowledge of at least two of the following:
    • Solution sales - software + professional services + support
    • Information security / cyber security
    • Document and records management technology - ideally including one or more of Micro Focus (TRIM / Content Manager / Records Manager), iManage, SharePoint,
    • RecordPoint
    • File analysis and data discovery software
    • Information governance / records management theory
    • Data protection and privacy regulations and associated technology (ideally OneTrust)
    • Security and Compliance functionality around the Microsoft 365 platform
  • Be skilled in dealing with clients and managing customer expectations
  • Good written and spoken communication skills
  • A working knowledge of general IT infrastructure
  • Sound analytical/problem solving skills
  • Able to communicate technical information effectively to a non-technical audience and vice-versa
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Able to effectively juggle multiple engagements with competing priorities
  • Possessing well-developed problem solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to think creatively in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to travel around the UK, Europe and the rest of the World, as the work may require client site visits
