Job Description

Performance ManagerAre you someone who is enthusiastic about the development of capable people, Change Management and is results focusedAt British Gypsum we are looking for a Performance Manager to work in our Operations Team, with core responsibility for identifying, analyzing, and prioritizing plant improvement activities that deliver sustainable results and cost savings with pace and in line with the current business context, through the Site Team.The Performance Manager will be a key part of a Senior Leadership team on site, interacting with key business functions such as Production, Mining, Engineering, Process, Warehouse, Environmental Health, and Safety as well as the World Class Manufacturingteams really implementing change with your coaching mentality, hands on approach to production challenges and bags of effort and enthusiasm for performance management. Gypsum is the vital raw material at the heart of our plaster and plasterboard, and much of it is mined, milled, and made in Britain. A manufacturing businesswith over one hundred years experience in plaster, plasterboard, and ceiling solutionsWhat we are looking for:

  • A strong understanding and awareness of people management, change management and behavior management within a manufacturing / production environment
  • Strong diligence and the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple simultaneous priorities
  • Excellent communication and the ability to influence and manage across a matrix organisation.
  • Experience in the training of World Class Manufacturing /Continuous Improvement tools and techniques.
  • Experience in manufacturing, production management, process engineering, or technical project management, with a good understanding of production plant organization.
  • Previous leadership experience, Budget Management and Capex management experience
What you will be doing:
  • Driving safety culture, creating cost saving opportunities, identifying continuous improvement opportunities
  • Building effective communication streams with key stakeholders within key departments, knowledge transfer and identifying key development areas across the departments
  • Change management responsibilities ensuring everyone knows what is responsible of them, organizing and supporting coaching / mentoring programs to aid the change and building a collaborative culture that everyone feels a valuable part of
  • Planning and strategy building alongside the Plant Manager and Central Team as well as managing upcoming and existing projects
  • Working with the Central Operations teams at Head office to coordinate plans and to help drive the set program across the business.
  • Supporting a 24/7 production plant to maintain WCM operation excellence standards, Managing up to 4 direct reports and 10 indirect reports. Helping to deliver plant improvement activities alongside site team
