We have an exciting opportunity for a Stock Accountant to join our team based in East Kilbride. This is a key role in the PDM Buildbase & Civils and Lintels. The person will be responsible for all aspectsof stock accounting/management within each business and supporting the finance teams with recharges, balance sheet reconciliations and ad hoc analysis work. The role will suit an individual with excellent excel skills, a can do attitude, and experienceof manipulating large amounts of data in excel models. You will be required to occasionally travel to regional meetings/local branches.As our Stock Accountant, your responsibilities will include:- Full control of the Bi-Annual stock-take process, from ensuring branches are doing pre checks to finalising the final result.- You will be be expected to improve on current processes & investigate discrepancies to give management confidence in the final result.- Completing monthly stock reconciliations, GRNI reports, aged stock provision etc- Detailed analysis and understanding of the current stock profile, with particular reference to ageing and the creation of stock gains and losses- Further improve understanding and visibility on branch stock gains- Help branches manage their stock by monitoring stock levels along with POs raised and deliveries due, identify where stock can be reallocated between branches- Preparation of statutory schedulesAs our Stock Accountant,you will have the following skills and experience:- A degree in Finance/Accounting would be preferrable but not essential.- Previous experience in a similar role is essential- Excellent Excel skills- Ability to work as part of a team and on their own initiative, be proactive- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills- Excellent analytical skillsable to understand the commercial implications of the data- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail- Always looking for opportunities in continuous improvement- Excellent planning and organisation skills: able to work to tight deadlines- Proactive approach with commercial awarenessClick apply today to be considered or to find out more about the Stock Accountant rolewe would love to hear from you!
